Goodbye Place
In July of 2023 I was invited to stay at an Italian villa in San Benedetto del Tronto (Marche) for a birthday celebration. I was surrounded by high rollers and wealthy entrepreneurs from LA.
I felt like an extra on the set of a Pedro Almodóvar film.

Each room saturated in formal character as the backdrop for sophistication, the women perfectly curated as the accessory to the men and the cryptic male chatter of negotiation, and investment.
Reality and fantasy were one. I leaned into the curated version of myself, playing in a gender role not suited to my boyish charm.
When I came back home I felt nourished and exhausted with energy not suited to the scene of my solitude.
